What does Dust-to-Digital do?
We curate and present music from around the world. We provide essential historical context that allows the listener to understand why the music matters, not only to those who performed it and their contemporaries, but why it matters to us. Our projects are grounded in music but often include film, photographs, and the oral traditions of the people whose music we celebrate.
How do you work?
We choose a few projects each year. Working with archivists, musicologists, folklorists, and scholars, we bring together music, photographs, film, and oral history to tell stories that have, until now, been obscured.
ORDERS
I purchased a digital download and am unable to find the files, what should I do?
Each digital release ordered through the website is delivered in two emails: one with audio files, and another with a pdf booklet. If you are unable to locate these messages, we recommend checking your spam folder.
Do your digital downloads include a booklet?
Each digital release includes the full book/booklet (in PDF format) that was featured in the release's physical product.
What determines the cost of shipping?
Two things determine cost. 1. The weight of the item and 2. Priority level, which determines how quickly you will receive it.
Why is international shipping so expensive?
International shipping for packages over 4lbs must be sent via Priority Service. The less costly option, First Class International, is not available if the weight of the item is 4lbs or more. Box sets can be heavy, however, we offer a variety of options so you may choose from the best rates available. VAT in Europe or UK is the responsibility of the buyer. VAT is never included in the shipping cost. Buyer pays shipping.
What should I do if my order is missing?
First, we recommend referring to your tracking number that was emailed to you at the time of shipment. If that doesn't answer your questions, please feel free to send us an email.
What is your return policy?
If you have an unopened item or an unworn piece of apparel you’d like to return, please send an email within 30 days of your purchase and we can begin the return process. Please note: for physical orders, customers will be responsible for the cost of shipping, which will be deducted from your refund.
Who distributes Dust-to-Digital?
In North America, we are distributed by Forced Exposure. In the UK and Europe, we are distributed by Cargo Records UK. In Japan, our titles are available through Disk Union.

How can I submit a video to be considered for your Instagram?
You can send a video submission along with a brief and relevant description of the performance via email. Please include your Instagram handle (if applicable) so we can credit you if it gets posted.
Can I pay to be featured on your Instagram?
Our Instagram page is curated to present a variety of sound cultures, free of charge and free of paid promotions. We do not accept payment for posts/features.
Can I submit a project idea to Dust-to-Digital?
At this time, Dust-to-Digital is not in the market for new projects. However, if you are interested in proposing one to us, please fill out this form.
I have records to sell or donate, do you want them?
If you’re interested, please send a summary of the collection, including a list of labels and titles. We don’t normally acquire collections, but if it is something that could be useful to us, we will let you know. However, if it isn’t anything that we need, we may be able to put you in touch with someone who does.
Do you have a physical storefront?
No, Dust-to-Digital products are sold online and in record stores.
Is Dust-to-Digital hiring?
