Dust-to-Digital Foundation

In 2011, we formed a non-profit as a way to ensure the preservation and continued availability of historic and traditional American and international musical sound recordings and related media. To date, we have digitized more than 50,000 recordings from the private collections of some of the world’s most prominent private record collections. Our goal is to build a database to be publicly available to all. We will be announcing a partnership in 2025 that will begin to fulfill this part of our mission.

Help Us Keep the Music Alive

To date, we have digitized more than 50,000 rare and historic audio recordings, safeguarding the legacies of musicians from around the world. These recordings represent not only the artistry of the past, but the cultural narratives that shaped the music we listen to today.

In partnership with a prestigious university (to be announced soon), we are taking the next step in our mission: making these vital recordings accessible online for scholars, music enthusiasts, and the general public. This initiative, combined with our ongoing social media outreach, is helping to educate listeners about the roots of music while shining a light on the evolution of musical traditions.

Every contribution — whether large or small — plays a critical role in ensuring that these invaluable recordings remain available for generations to come. Your support is a key part of this work, and we are deeply grateful for it. Together, we are keeping the music — and the stories it carries — alive.

Thank you for being a part of this journey!
