Born 1880 in Floyd County, Virginia, Reed was blind and grew up on a West Virginia farm. He composed his own songs and relied on his talent to support his family, playing on the streets, giving lessons, and selling printed lyrics. This set includes his commercial recordings from 1927 and 1929. Laid back tone.
