Newsletter : December 2004

Greetings from Atlanta,

You may have been noticing a different look at the Dust-to-Digital website recently. I will get to the new features we have added in a moment, but first let's talk about the reason for the change...

Last month saw the release of our follow-up to Goodbye, Babylon -- a single CD called Where Will You Be Christmas Day? It is the first in a series of planned Holiday releases based on playlists from the Dick Spottswood Radio Show. So far the press has called the CD "charming, challenging, and endlessly captivating," as well as "…rawer, more heartfelt, and just more musically interesting than the vast majority of what you'll find in the holiday bin."

To reflect this new release, we had to give the old website an overhaul. The new site is laid out much differently from its predecessor, mainly to facilitate the greater amount of content. Among the changes, you will find:

· Audio excerpts from Where Will You Be Christmas Day? and Goodbye, Babylon.
· A new order page to give people who want to buy our releases plenty of options.
· Notes and Transcriptions for the Christmas CD.

Please visit our site, and take some time to poke around. You will see a few pages with the phrase "Coming Soon." We are working hard to update the content as quickly as possible, so check back from time to time. Also, we have tried to build the site with you in mind, so your feedback is always appreciated.

Another site we would like you to visit is Georgia Tech's radio station WREK. Dust-to-Digital recently started sponsoring the radio show Country Classics hosted by record collector and enthusiast Joe Bussard. The show airs on Sundays from 12-1pm, but it can be heard on the website's archive all week long.

Finally, we received some good news this past Tuesday. Goodbye, Babylon was nominated for two Grammy® Awards:

Best Historical Album
Goodbye, Babylon
Steven Lance Ledbetter, compilation producer;
David Glasser & Matt Sandoski, mastering engineers (Various Artists)
[Dust-To-Digital]

Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package
Goodbye, Babylon
Susan Archie, art director (Various Artists)
[Dust-To-Digital]

The ceremony will be on February 13, 2005, so be watching for us.

On a personal note, I would like to thank all of you who have given us support this past year. Your emails and cards mean a lot, and we intend to keep working on projects that will hopefully further enlighten all of us. We wish you and yours the best of holiday cheer.

Kindest regards,
Lance Ledbetter
